Did you know God chose your promised land before the foundation of the earth? He tells us in His Word that he determined the specific time and place we are to live. You can find this in the Book of Acts.
From one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. (Acts 17:26 CSB).
This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 CSB. Emphasis is mine.)
The Family Business
The “family business” is the salvation of people. This is the first ministry given to the believer. The primary ministry for all believers is the ministry of reconciliation. We find this in Paul’s second letter to the church at Corinth.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:17-20 CSB. Emphasis is mine.)
The Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, states immediately upon salvation God gives us the ministry of reconciliation. God determined this point in history is best for us to be alive because this is where we will be most effective in the ministry of reconciliation.

Your Promised Land Is in a Specific Geographic Point
Acts 17:26 also says, “… and the boundaries of where they live.” God determined the boundaries of where we live and minister before He created anything. Why do I say live and minister?
Where we live, and minister may not be the same place. For me, I minister within a hundred miles of my home. For my friend, Larry Brown of Larry Brown Ministries, he lives near me but ministers in over twenty-two countries. Larry’s promised land is much bigger than mine.
God places us within the geographic boundaries where we will be most effective. Again, it is all about the “family business”. I minister completely in Oklahoma. This is where I have my anointing, authority, and dominion. My friend Larry has a much larger area God has called him to minister in. God set larger boundaries for him. It is the same for all of us. We have specific boundaries for us to minister within. It is within these boundaries we will be most effective. Individuals have boundaries, Bible study groups have boundaries, and churches have boundaries. It is our responsibility to discover the boundaries God has set for our lives.
God Has Positioned Your Promised Land
Where you live is not an accident, it is your assignment. It is the same for the church you attend. God has positioned each of us where we will be the most effective in proclaiming the Gospel. He has determined the boundaries of your promised land, down to the finest detail of our cities, neighborhoods, apartments, and workplaces.
There is no accident in where you live, shop, or work. Each one is a personal assignment from God. God will intersect your path with certain people as an assignment for ministry. Everything you are, like, and love is part of God’s assignment for you. He has fully equipped you to accomplish your assignment.
We need to grasp the fact God has positioned each of us to succeed with our assignment, which is the ministry of reconciliation. The ministry of reconciliation is our primary purpose on earth.
Your Promised Land Has All the Resources You Need
Not only are you positioned by God in the precise time and place for you to be most effective, but He has also provided all the resources you need to accomplish your assignment. The money you need is available when you need it. People will join you in ministry at the precise time you need them.
This goes for material possessions, too. All your needs are supplied by God’s riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (See Philippians 4:19) You lack in nothing needed to accomplish what God wants you to accomplish.
God Spiritually Equipped You to Succeed in Your Promised Land
We are told by the Apostle Peter, “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3 CSB)
Therefore, we have everything we need for life, which is all the physical needs we require while living on earth. We also have everything required for godliness on earth. Godliness is our spiritual needs. Just keep in mind, this is so we can operate in the family business.
How are our physical and material needs met by God? The next verse written by Peter tells us. “By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.” (2 Peter 1:4 CSB)
Therefore, it is these great and precious promises that provide everything we need for life and godliness. We find those promises in His Word; therefore, we can’t neglect the Word of God. We need to be reading and studying His Word daily.
How to Enter Your Promised Land
“But,” you say, “How do I enter my promised land?” I believe this is best answered in the reverse. What stopped the original generation of Israelites from entering their promised land?
For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (with the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it; neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe). (Hebrews 4:2 Classic Amplified)
The original generation of Israelites lacked two things that kept them from entering the promised land.
1. They didn’t mix God’s words with faith.
2. They didn’t unite in faith with those that believed God’s words.
Therefore, faith must be the key to entering our promised land. It is also the key to accomplishing our assignment in the family business.

What Are the Different Levels of Faith (And Why They Matter)
Mixing God’s Word with Faith
It is important that we mix God’s Word with our faith. What is faith?
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 CSB)
In simple words: Faith is complete reliance upon the fact that God’s Word is true. Faith means that we accept what God says as truth and act upon it despite the lack of physical evidence. It is when we act in faith on what God says, what we don’t see becomes something we can see. That is the purpose of faith, to bring into the seen world what is unseen.
Uniting With Others That Believe God’s Word
It is important that we join with others that are walking in faith. Uniting with those that believe God’s Word is important. “Not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25 CSB)
Yet, the key is uniting with others that believe God’s Word. This isn’t everybody that professes to be a Christian. How do know if someone is mixing God’s Word with faith? It will show in the words they speak and the actions they do. Their words and actions should be in alignment with God’s Word. Do they act on God’s Word before they see the result of their faith? They are the ones to unite in faith with.
Those that don’t speak the Word and don’t act on what the Word says are not the ones to uniter with. Uniting with them will be futile, because they aren’t believing in God.
What Does It Mean to Believe?
Believing is not a mental acknowledgment that something exists or is true. Believing, as the Bible states, it is so much more than that. It goes far deeper than our mind. James tells us, “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.” (James 2:19 NLT)
To believe is to put ALL your confidence, trust, and reliance upon something. To believe in Jesus is to put ALL your confidence, trust, and reliance on Jesus. You put your whole life and everything you are in Jesus. Your every action is based on this belief in Jesus. To believe in God’s Word, what He has said and promised, means to put ALL your confidence, trust, and reliance on what God has said in His Word. Again, that means your every action is based on this belief.
It is not enough to believe in God. To genuinely believe, you must put ALL your confidence, trust, and reliance upon God.
Entering Your Promised Land
If you haven’t done it already, it is time to enter your promised land. There, you will find everything you will ever need and God’s protection for you and your family.
I hope that by now you have discovered through my writing that God precisely placed you at this point in history and in your geographical area, because that is where you will be most effective.
I pray you also discovered that your promised land is a spiritual place that is dependent upon God’s promises. Enter this promised land and discover all that God has for you.
The Challenge
If you have not entered your promised land, I challenge you to spend time with God and discover your promised land and the assignment God has for you in the “Family Business”.
Meditate on His Word and spend time in prayer. Learn what He has called you to do. This point in God’s timeline is too important to waste.
