Confessions From The Word

My tongue shall speak of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteousness. (Psalm 119:172 NKJV)

Why Should We Confess the Word of God?

When we meditate on God’s Word, and continually confess it over our life, it will renew our mind just as God instructs us to do in Romans 12:2. When our mind is renewed by God’s Word, what the Word says about us and our situation becomes our new reality. Confessions from the Word of God are vital to our Christian life.

This isn’t positive thinking. This is renewing our mind according to what God says about us and our situation. Through meditation and confession of God’s Word, our faith grows stronger and we overcome the trials and adversities in our life more and more.

7 Reasons Confessions Are Effective

  1. You build your faith in God and in His Word. Faith is complete trust, confidence and reliance upon God.
  2. You develop a deeper understanding and clarity of God’s Word.
  3. You will use God’s Word wisely as you deal with your affairs of life.
  4. You believe God’s Word literally and not just words on a page.
  5. You develop boldness by knowing the reality of who you are on the earth. You are a child of God.
  6. You will understand that God’s Word is alive and powerful.
  7. You empower the angels to go to work on your behalf.

How to Confess the Word of God

  • Insert your name, The other person’s name, or the situation where it says to in the brackets.
  • Speak the confession out loud so your ears can hear what you are confessing. This is effective for two reasons. First, God designed us so that our mind will always stop and listen to what our mouth says. Second, because our mind always believes what our mouth says.
  • Do this regularly throughout the day, days, or even weeks. However long you need to confess God’s Word to believe it.
  • This is not something you just try. Make a commitment to do it for the rest of your life. It will change your life and your perception of life.

I have included a list of confessions from the Word that I use personally. You can take the Word of God and find His promises for your situation and make your own confessions.

Check this page regularly as I will add more confessions.

Speak the Word in Faith

Our Confessions:

Anointing

I Am Anointed Like Jesus

The Scripture:
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him. (Acts 10:38 CSB)

The Confession:
How God anointed [your name] with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how [your name] went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.

Jesus Is Anointed; I Am Anointed

The Scripture:
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. (Luke 4:18-19 CSB)

Now it is God who strengthens us together with you in Christ, and who has anointed us. (2 Corinthians 1:21 CSB)

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you, remain in him. (1 John 2:27 CSB)

The Confession:
The Holy Spirit anoints me just like He did for Jesus. I am anointed to preach and proclaim the Gospel to anyone I meet. Through this anointing, the Holy Spirit teaches me and gives me revelation. I cannot be deceived because of this anointing. Through the anointing I can do all things God has called me to do.

Children

My Children Are Blessed and Watched Over

The Confession:

Father, I confess Your Word over my children. I confess that my children are taught of the Lord and great is their peace and undisturbed composure. My children grow in wisdom and stature and have favor with God and man. I have trained up my children in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not turn from it. Your angels keep charge over my children to accompany and defend them and preserve them in all their ways.

The Scriptures:

Then all your children will be taught by the LORD, their prosperity will be great. (Isaiah 54:13 CSB)

Start a youth out on his way; even when he grows old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 CSB)

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people. (Luke 2:52 CSB)

Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father. (Matthew 18:10 NLT)

My Children Are Obedient

The Confession:

I confess that my children are obedient, and they obey their parents. My children honor, esteem, and value their parents so that it may be well with them on the earth and that they may live long on the earth.

My children delight in the Lord and are willing to quickly obey Him. Because they are willing and obedient, they will eat the good things of the land. My children choose life and love you Lord and obey Your voice and cling to You; for You are their life and the length of their days.

I plead the blood of the Lord Jesus on my children, my grandchildren, and all those You have given me in this life.

The Scriptures:

Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. (Ephesians 6:2 CSB)

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. (Psalm 37:4 CSB)

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land. Isaiah 1:19 CSB)

They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. (Revelation 12:11 CSB)

My Children are Sanctified

The Scripture:

Know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. (Psalm 4:3 CSB)

The Confession:

My children are sanctified. They are set apart for the Lord’s service.  I confess that my children and their children will serve the Lord all the days of their lives.

I have raised them and trained them to love the Lord and to hear His voice. They will obey whatever He tells them to do.

Financial or Material Need

God Meets All of My Needs

Scripture:
And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 CSB)

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. (Matthew 6:33 CSB)

Confession:
God’s riches in glory in Christ Jesus are unlimited. Therefore, I, [your name], have all my needs met according to God’s riches in glory in Christ Jesus. [your name] always seeks the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, God’s way of doing and being right, first. Therefore, God always provides for all my needs.

Healing

God Is My Great Physician

 The Scripture:
For I am the LORD who heals you. (Exodus 15:26b CSB)

The Confession:
The Lord is the Great Physician for [your name]. He is the healer for [your name].

By His Stripes I am Healed

 The Scripture:
But he was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on him, and we are healed by his wounds. (Isaiah 53:5 CSB)

By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24b CSB)

The Confession:
The stripes Jesus took upon His back provide physical healing for [your name].

"I Am" Confessions

I Am in the Kingdom of God

The Scriptures:

He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14 CSB)

For it is written, Be holy, because I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16 CSB)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 CSB)

The Confession:

I have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. Jesus has destroyed Satan’s kingdom in my life.  Satan, I command you to stop your maneuvers in my life.  I bind you and cast you out of my life today.  You cannot touch me because I live holy as my Lord God is holy. If I sin, I am quick to repent and be forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. Jesus is Lord of my spirit, soul, body, relationships, circumstances, finances, and ministry. Thank you Jesus for what you have done and will do in my life.

Salvation

Salvation for Your Family Members

The Scriptures:
They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household. (Acts 16:31 CSB)

I will contend with the one who contends with you, and I will save your children. (Isaiah 49:25 CSB)

This is what the LORD says: Keep your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for the reward for your work will come— this is the LORD’s declaration— and your children will return from the enemy’s land. 17 There is hope for your future— this is the LORD’s declaration— and your children will return to their own territory. (Jeremiah 31:16-17 CSB)

The Confession:
Father, I thank you for the salvation of my children. I have raised them in the knowledge of you. I thank you for the promise of my whole household being saved. I declare, my children that have strayed into the kingdom of darkness will return from the enemy’s land. I roll the care of my children’s salvation on to you and will not worry about it. I am confident because, Lord, you always keep your promises.

Sleep

God Gives Me Sleep

Scripture:
I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, LORD, make me live in safety. (Psalm 4:8 CSB)

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant.
(Proverbs 3:24 CSB)

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 CSB)

I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the LORD sustains me. (Psalm 3:5)

Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you. (Psalm 116:7)

Confession:
My God always provides sleep and rest for [your name]. He will always protect [your name] when he/she is asleep, so I have no worries about my safety. God always supplies [your name] needs, so I have nothing to worry about there. God safeguards the children of [your name] so I have nothing to worry about there. There, mind, I command you to stop worrying in Jesus name. Now I will lie down in my bed, and sleep will come immediately in Jesus name.

Tithing

I Give My Tithe to My High Priest, Jesus

The Scriptures:

Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me!” “How do we rob you?” you ask. “By not making the payments of the tenth and the contributions. You are suffering under a curse, yet you—the whole nation—are still robbing me. Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the LORD of Armies. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. I will rebuke the devourer, for you, so that it will not ruin the produce of your land and your vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit,” says the LORD of Armies. (Malachi 3:8-11 CSB)

The Confession:

I am not a God robber. I come with my full tithe cheerfully and gladly for the Lord has been good to me. I present my tithe to my High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank you for opening the floodgates of heaven and pouring out a blessing without measure upon my life.

I also thank you for rebuking the devourer in my life. He is unable to steal, kill, and destroy my life and the life of my family. We are the blessed of the Lord and we give Him all the honor, glory, and praise.

Worry

Cast Your Cares Upon the Lord

The Scripture:

Casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7 CSB)

The Confession:

I walk in faith today, for Jesus has taken away fear and doubt in my life.  Fear will not rule me – faith will!  Whatever is not of faith is sin, so I speak words of life.  Today, I cast all my cares on Christ.  I will go throughout the day worry-free.  I choose to meditate on the promises and not the problem.  As I cast my cares on Christ today, I will magnify God’s Word in all that I do.
