The Law of Faith Boldly Allows You to Live in The Fast Lane

Are you familiar with the law of faith? Just as there are physical laws, there are spiritual laws that govern the physical world. Put the law of faith to work.
Law of faith. Speeding cars as streams of light in a cityscape.

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By one of works? No, on the contrary, by a law of faith. (Romans 3:27 CSB Emphasis is mine.)

Natural laws govern our world. We cannot transgress these laws without repercussions. The law of gravity, the law of lift, laws of motion, thermodynamics, and electrostatic laws. These laws dictate how our universe, the physical world, functions.

It should be no surprise that our spiritual world also has laws that govern how it functions. There are several spiritual laws besides the law of faith.

  • Law of sin. Romans 7:23
  •       …of God. Romans 7:25.
  •       …of sin and death. Romans 8:2.
  •       …of life in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:2
  •       …of Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:21
  •       …of freedom James 1:25; 2:12

Spiritual Laws Always Work

The spiritual laws will always work for those that will use them correctly. The law of gravity has to be used correctly with the law of lift for a plane to fly. If used correctly, lift will supersede gravity, and the plane flies. If not used correctly, the gravity will keep the plane on the ground.

The law of faith supersedes the law of Moses. When used correctly, faith allows us to be born again and experience grace. When misused, the law of Moses takes over and God’s promises seem far from us.

Just as the law of gravity never fails, the law of faith will never fail. It is always working and available to those that qualify.

Who Qualifies to Use the Law of Faith?

Who qualifies to use the law of faith? Jesus gives us the answer in Mark 9:23. “Everything is possible for the one who believes.” (CSB) Anyone who believes qualifies to use the law of faith.

For the one who believes, the impossible happens. When the law of faith is grounded in the will of God, the supernatural becomes common. Things that faith in God can only explain start happening around the one who believes.

We choose if we are going to be “one who believes”. We decide what our spiritual life will be like.

The Law of Faith Is the Spiritual Fast Lane

I remember when I was a small child, there was no speed limit when crossing the Great Salt Lake Desert. You could drive as fast as you wanted to, or your vehicle safely allowed you to. Some people drove across at 70 miles an hour, some at 100 miles an hour, and I remember my dad telling me a story of how he crossed at 140 miles an hour one time.

Spiritually speaking, some people have never been to the Great Salt Lake Desert. Others visited there a few times, and a few decided to move there.

The law of faith allows us to take the limits off our life. We step into the spiritual fast lane when we use the law of faith. God has no speed limit. We decide how fast we want to go.

One Who Stepped into the Spiritual Fast Lane

Anyone who decides to be the “one who believes” can step into the fast lane. In Mark chapter five, we find a woman who decided to be “one who believes”. This woman had suffered for twelve years with an issue of blood. She had spent all her money going to every doctor she could find, but was not any better.

She grew worse. Now she is broke, sick, and weak. This issue of blood has been slowly sapping her strength and vitality. She is beyond any human or natural help. Then she starts hearing about Jesus. She hears the stories of the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking, lepers healed, and demons being cast out.

Hope begins to rise in her until she says, “If I just touch his clothes, I’ll be made well.” (Mark 5:28 CSB) This poor and suffering woman put action to her words and did just what she believed. The moment she touched the end of Jesus robe, she was instantly healed.

She entered into the spiritual fast lane by applying the law of faith. What is most interesting is she did this with Jesus doing nothing. Jesus acknowledged this. “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has saved you.” (Mark 5:34 CSB)

How Do We Apply the Law of Faith?

Jesus taught us how to apply the law of faith in Mark chapter eleven. “Jesus replied to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for—believe that you have received, it and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:22-24 CSB)

In this short passage, Jesus tells us everything we need to know to apply the law of faith. We can take what he said and apply it in the same way aeronautical engineers apply propulsion to the law of gravity and the law of lift to make a plane fly.

Four Steps to Applying the Law of Faith

  1. Have faith in God. Some translations say “Have the faith of God.” Our faith is a gift from God. Since our faith came from God, we know it is the God-kind of faith.

  2. Believe what God promises without a doubt. We must believe without any doubt or wavering. Meditate on the scriptures where God promises to cover your need. Take as long as necessary until you know in your heart it will happen.

  3. Speak the desired result of your need by saying what God says about the problem. For example, you have a financial need. Speak Philippians 4:19 over your problem. “My God meets my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. I cast my financial need into the sea and thank God I have the $_____ that I need.”

  4. Thank God for the result. Thank Him that your need or problem has been met. From this point forward just speak God’s promises.

The Challenge

I challenge you to step into the realm of the impossible by applying the law of faith to your life. Dare to believe God’s promises. Take your needs or problems one at a time and end them by using the four steps of applying the law faith.

As you do this, you will see the circumstances in your life change. You will discover how exciting it is to live in the spiritual fast lane. God created the law of faith for our benefit. Apply the law of faith to your life and watch the supernatural become normal in your life.
