What Is the God Kind of Faith?

Do you know that you have the God kind of faith dwelling in you? Your faith is the same faith God has. Learn why and how in this devotion.

Most Bibles render Mark 11:22, “Jesus replied to them, ‘Have faith in God.’” We find a more accurate rendering in Young’s Literal translation. “And Jesus answering saith to them, ‘Have faith of God.’”
If the literal translation of the Greek says, “Have the faith of God,” this would be the God kind of faith.

You might think, “Where do I get the God kind of faith?”

Guess what? You already have the God kind of faith. We received God’s own faith when we were born again.

Romans 12:3b tells us, “… as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.

God can only give us a measure of His own faith. He can’t give another kind of faith. So, we can rest assured that we have the God kind of faith residing in us.

Also, the measure of faith He gives is the same for all of us. Since He doesn’t favor one person over another, we all receive the same faith. He doesn’t give Billy Graham and John Piper a bigger measure of faith than you or me.

(If you want to learn more about the different types of faith you can refer to my chart HERE.)

Since we all receive the same measure of faith, the difference can only be what we do with the faith we receive. Some have stronger faith than others because they use their faith more than others. Where do we get more faith?

Here is the key to receiving more faith: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17 NKJV)

Do you want more faith? Input more Word. You can do this by Bible study, audio Bible, YouTube sermons, podcasts, and if you are my age, cd’s, and cassette tapes.

Realize the God kind of faith dwells within you. It came by hearing the Word of God concerning salvation. Paul told the Ephesians, “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift.

Not only is grace a gift, but faith to be saved is also a gift.

If you are not doing it now, step out and start using your God kind of faith. Expand faith into every area of your life. Do your job by faith, parent by faith, be a friend by faith, grocery shop by faith- do everything by faith.

The God kind of faith is not meant to be idle.

Father, I thank you for giving me Your gift of grace and faith. As I hear more of Your Word, give me more faith. Holy Spirit, teach me how I can use faith in every area of my life. Lead me and guide. In Jesus name. Amen.

I do not capitalize the name “satan” in my writing. He neither deserves the honor or respect that entails.
