And since we have the same spirit of faith in keeping with what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we also believe, and therefore speak. (2 Corinthians 4:13 CSB)
The true sign of a believer living by faith is the words that come out of their mouth. Jesus told us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34)
Every believer has the Spirit of Faith dwelling in them. We know Him as the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Faith always agrees with God’s Word.
Therefore, we speak what God wrote in His Word. When we are standing in faith is not the time to be silent. It is the time for us to be speaking God’s Word.
As we speak God’s Word, the Word’s roots are driven deeper into our hearts. The very act of speaking God’s Word builds our faith. As our faith builds, we speak with more conviction from a deeper revelation.
When we are facing trials and tribulations isn’t the time for us to be silent. That is when we must be speaking the promises of God. It is the time we speak from the Word that is rooted in our hearts.
Just as Paul said, “We also believe, and therefore speak.” We are speaking from the faith in our hearts because we believe. It is the faith-filled words that bring God’s promises to come to pass in our life.
But there is another time when our faith compels us to say what we believe. That is when we are among unbelievers.
“Whoa,” you say. “What if they get upset?”
We must not maintain peace at the expense of our silence. They may get upset, but they will also hear the Gospel.
Not that we should push the Gospel down their throat, but we must speak up and share the Gospel when the opportunity presents itself.
It may not be politically correct to share the Gospel, but it is Jesus-correct to do so. Who are we here to please? The world or Jesus?
Today is the time for us to show what we believe by speaking. Speak the written Word to receive God’s promises and speak what you believe to share the Gospel.
Prayer
Father, I thank you for loving me so much. You gave me your written Word so that I may know your promises. I believe; therefore I will speak. No words of doubt and unbelief will come from my lips. I will only speak your Word, which I believe completely. Help me to have all my words be faith-filled words that reveal my complete trust, confidence, and reliance on you. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, give me the courage to share the Gospel with all that need it. I thank you for infilling me with the Spirit of Faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
