Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. (Psalm 112:1 NKJV)

Are you blessed? I don’t mean you knowing you are blessed because God’s Word says you are blessed. Are you blessed so much that others talk about your being blessed? Are you Psalm 112 blessed?

Look at what it means to be Psalm 112 blessed:

  1. Your descendants are mighty.
  2. Wealth and riches are in your house.
  3. There is light in your life when all around you dwell in darkness.
  4. You are gracious, compassionate, and righteous in all your actions.
  5. You can’t be shaken from your unwavering faith in God.
  6. You are not afraid.
  7. You are steadfast in trusting the Lord.

There is more too. Study Psalm 112 and decide you want to be THAT blessed believer. Now go back to verse one. This is the key to being a Psalm 112 believer.

You must fear the Lord and take great delight in His commandments. Without doing this, you can’t be completely blessed.

The fear of the Lord is the basis of our faith and trust in God. This is not a terrified, quaking fear of God. This is a reverential, loving respect for god, His ways, and His Word.

The second part of your path to great blessing is to delight in His commandments. Delight means with great pleasure. To be greatly blessed, you must take great pleasure in the Lord’s commandments.

This means you strive daily to live according to His way of doing things. When the Word corrects you, you immediately and joyfully change to conform to what the Word of God says.
Study Palm 112 and decide you are THAT blessed believer. It is what god wants for you, your family, and your descendants.

Prayer

Father, I thank you for blessing me. I fear the Lord my God and take great delight in your commandments. Holy Spirit, show me anything I need to change. I want to conform completely to Your Word. Thank you for your blessing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
